This year posed a number of challenges for the girls’ tennis team. Other than the obvious coronavirus setbacks, a head coach was not chosen until the end of the season, which caused much confusion and frustration among the team (though Ms. Margaret Sizemore did join as an assistant coach). When the school finally announced it would allow competition with other schools, several key players did not appear on the roster, either because they did not want to play during the coronavirus, or for other reasons. However, at the end of the season, the girls walked away with many fun memories, more improved than before. As captain Hannah Ma ’22 puts it, “I’m really proud of the team for adapting to such a unique season and staying positive throughout all the confusion around COVID.”
