Relax Your Attitude & Spice it Up!

No one person is one-hundred-percent alike, but the media has polluted society and produced a certain image and lifestyle that is deemed as perfect and complete. Because of this, mankind believes that they are lesser than those around them if they do not conform to the common craze. With each passing day, there seem to be hundreds of new fads–– social media apps, electronics, brands, and even color palettes such as the current “Millennial Pink” collections! But honestly, none of this really matters in the long run. Nobody will remember ten years from now what you had or didn’t have, how you dressed or what you chose not to wear. Yes, of course, it is nice to fit in and understand what hot new topics your friends are conversing about, but, let’s be real… who wants to copy each other? Do you want to be known as the follower? Or would it make you happier to be recognized as the “trendsetter”? In my opinion, I would appreciate the latter. Without a doubt, I do admit that there are moments where I like to cop the new iPhone app, pullover, or shoes. But, I do enjoy a good twist as well–– it adds a lil’ zest! If you don’t enjoy the same things as everyone around you, who cares! Do what makes you happy! Life is too short to be worrying about what others think, or what you even think about yourself! Instead of going for the typical statement piece, why not try a new color? Everyone has black? Try some blue. Live it up a little! All of your friends do the same things every weekend? Change that–– go check out that new artist at The Q! Be spontaneous! Take a weekend getaway to Chicago! Enjoy a little Netflix n’ chill alone night! That is what is fun! Variety is the spice of life! If everyone had the same things, and followed the completely same trends, then nothing would be unique, nobody would be different, and life would be bland. It is nice to be special, you just have to gain the confidence to make the first step. In the words of Dr. Seuss, “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” Be bold! Be brave! Be you.
